Places I love in Paris - part 2

Another bustling area I love to go to when I am in Paris is

LE MARAIS

 Merci : 111 boulevard Beaumarchais
is THE place to shop !
This three floor superstore brings together a carefully chosen selection of furniture,
homeware, fashion, perfume...
There is also a lower ground floor canteen overlooking a courtyard garden
and a very charming and cosy café on the ground floor ( see first photo)

You will always find something to buy in this shop !!!

Bonton : 5 boulevard des filles du calvaire
This is their flagship store and even though I sell this brand I LOVE browsing in this beautiful three floor shop all about children...It's a very inspiring shop
(the shop is 2 minutes walk from Merci on the same boulevard)

Rose bakery : 30 rue Debelleyme
There is a much bigger selection than the "mini one" in London
The brunch in rose bakery !!! Oh lå lå...
The bread, the scones, banana bread...
A very yummy menu

Khadi and co : 37 rue Debelleyme
Winter or Summer I can't leave without a scarf wrapped around my neck
and this is the place to find one !

Just by walking around this area you will find a lot of shops and famous ones such as :
 A.P.C, Isabel Marant, Zef...
(These shops are by Saint sebastien-froissart tube station)

Little french trotters : 28 rue de Charonne
A multi brand shop for children
A nice selection of lots of small brands

Caravane : 19 & 22 rue saint Nicolas
Avery nice homeware shop

(Both shops are by Ledru-rollin tube station)

Lucky boy sunday

These are Lucky Boy Sunday's newcomers
Handmade knitted.
The collections are designed in Copenhagen, Denmark, and then produced in Bolivia by super talented women.
All is made of top of the pop 100% baby alpaca.
Lucky boy sunday supports some of the poorest population of Bolivia by giving them a good job and a fair price.
At the same time the Bolivian knitters make our dreams come alive

Places I love in Paris

Because I am French quite often mums ask me to recommend where to go to in Paris
I was there last week and visited some of my favourites places... The ones I look forward to going to each time I am in Paris.
This time I stayed in the 6th arrondissement :

SAINT GERMAIN DES PRES

Bonpoint : 6 rue de Tournon
I am sure everybody knows Bonpoint ! But rue de Tournon is their flagship store, the most beautiful shop I have ever seen... Especialy around Christmas time ! Magical, enchanting, poetic, delicate...

And now they have a Nanashi restaurant on the lower ground floor, I just love it ! They do bento, salad, smoothies, dessert...
I wish I could have a Nanashi restaurant in my shop !!! The dream...

I tried the panna cotta au sésame noir : "délicieux"

Here are some other addresses :

Noro : 4-6 rue de Varenne - clothes for children
Talc : 40 rue Jacob - clothes for children
Petit Pan : 95 rue du bac - clothes, decoration, fabric... for children
Pépé shoes : 50 rue des saint pères - shoes for children
La boutique suedoise : 157 boulevard saint germain -
adults and children clothes, shoes, bags socks...direct from Sweden
Soeur : 88 rue Bonaparte - girls from 10 to 18 (and mothers)
Le bon marché : 24 rue de Sèvres - the BEST department store...
La grande épicerie : next door to "le bon marché, amazing food hall  !

I bought these cute little red slippers from la boutique suedoise

26 October 2012

Here comes the fall...

The shop has put on it's autumn colours... and a little "trick or treat"
guest has slipped in amongst the selection...

How can you resist this sooo pretty, comfy, wooly,
cutie, hoodie... jacket ?!

 Or very comfy flannel trousers...

Or a beautiful cashmere cardigan ...

 I love this very "grand-pa"cardigan

A romantic little blouse with "golden ribbon"

I don't need to introduce the colour of the season
any more : YELLOW... so luminous and warm for
this coming winter

Happy halloween !

And finally a flannel satchel with a little
"je ne sais quoi"for our little ones

MAKIE

The first word that comes to me when I think about Makié is "delicacy".
Makié is a brand from New York that I like for its elegance and modernity.
A New York duo with Japanese roots.
A very delicate and poetic universe... in beautiful muted tones.

April showers

The label April showers by Polder was created by two sisters.
Madelon and Natalie were born and grew up in the Netherlands.
In Paris they both studied archeology and art history and then both started working with fashion designers.
In January 2008 they presented their first kid's accessories collection at the playtime fair in Paris.
From the very begining hand made components wich bring a unique and handcrafted quality to the collection have been highly significant in their creation.
The collections are a mix of a Nordic spirit with a French touch of vintage.

MY FIRST POST...

And here we are my first post !

Etoile (meaning star in French) is a multi-brand shop for children from birth until 6 years old.
I opened the shop in March 2012 with all the brands I love for little ones that I couldn't find in my area of London Islington :
Bonton, April showers, Makie, Lucky boy sunday, Tamar Mogendorff, Apolline å Paris, Bakker made with love, Paume.

The autumn/winter Bonton collection has arrived with a new amazing
colour palette : jaune safran, beige tilleul, gris noctambule, vert anis, beige rosalie..., New prints : flowers, stripes, checks... and lots of other marvels.

About Bonton
The story begins with a family resemblance.
Thomas takes his classes at Bonpoint founded by his parents, Marie-France and Bernard Cohen. Irene his wife also joins the design office. We are in 1999.
Here they tame the world of children's fashion, mastering the style and knowledge of well done designs.
Throughout their travels they draw a new destiny, dreaming of a line dedicated naturally to children in which basic rhythms with offbeat spirits are all spiced with fun colors and prints...
Bonton was born in May 2001, between the wink of an eye and the extension of their first adventure.
Today if a child's world has grown considerably Bonton is still the only brand to offer children more than 20 outstanding colour pigments (using traditional processes) each season.
